Skagway was considered the Gateway To The Klondike Gold Rush back in 1898. It has dramatic mountains which makes for great photo opportunities, especially when the White Pass & Yukon Route railroad go by. This historic rail climbs 3000 ft while negotiating hair-raising cliffs, and has been in operation for over 100 years.

During our visit to Skagway, it was a rainy and gloomy day as the photos show. But that didn't stop us from mountain biking down the White Pass Summit to view a landscape riddled with mountains and waterfalls, as well as spending a few hours rock climbing and dog mushing in the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park.
